The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is a pristine trekking experience in the central Himalayan region of Nepal. This magnificent trek combines the beauty of mountain scenery and the pleasure of meeting Sherpa, whose kindness and hospitality are well renowned. This itinerary, through pine, oak, and rhododendron forest, is less frequented than others and will appeal to mountain lovers who want to get off the beaten track.
The route passes by the sacred lakes of Gosaikunda (4018m), a pilgrim’s flock to pay homage to Lord Shiva. The route continues across the Lauribinayak pass and towards the Helambu valley. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek takes you to the magical trio of destinations that defines the culture, nature, and lifestyle of these regions as a whole. This trail is recently growing its popularity as the best of the moderately difficult trekking routes in Nepal.
Trip Outline
Day 01: Drive to Syabru Besi by local Jeep (Alt.1460m/4,789ft), 5-6 hours.
Day 02: Trek to Lama Hotel (Alt.2410m/7,904ft), 5 hours walk.
Day 03: Trek to Langtang village (Alt.3330m/10,922ft), 4 hours walk.
Day 04: Trek to kyanjyang Gompa (Alt.3730m/12,234ft), 4 hours walk.
Day 05: Rest day/Exploration day at Kyanjyang Gompa.
Day 06: Trek back to Lama Hotel (Alt.2410m/7,675ft), 5 hours walk.
Day 07: Trek to Thulo Syabru Besi (Alt.2210m/7248ft), 5 hours walk.
Day 08: Trek to shin Gompa (Alt.3350m/10,660ft), 5 hours walk.
Day 09: Trek to Gosaikunda (Alt.4380m/14,366ft), 6 hours walk.
Day 10: Trek over Lauribinayak pass and trek to Ghopte (Alt.3430m/14,202ft), 6 hours walk.
Day 11: Trek to Melamchi Gaon (Alt.2650m/8,692ft), 5-6 hours walk.
Day 12: Trek to Tarke Ghyang (Alt.2740m/8,987ft), 4 hours walk.

Descending down the ridge past fields, houses and through a forest reaches Ghopche stream. After crossing a bridge mountain path leads to ridge snout. From there descends a steep forest slope to the Langtang river then enters a forest with a gentle ascends gradually gains altitude

Trail ascends to pass. The trail is rough and crosses moraines but it is well marked with rock Cairns. From the pass (4610m) offers good views in both directions. After that, trail ascends to enter Gosaikunda (4380m), One can see heart touching panoramic mountain views such as Annapurna, Manaslu (8156m), Ganesh Himal (7406m), Langtang Lirung and other mountains.
