Chandragiri Hill, located on the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, is a popular destination for day hikes. The hike offers a relatively short but scenic route with great views of the surrounding mountains and the Kathmandu Valley. Here's an overview of what you can expect:

This place is a bit of a hidden gem in Nepal. Located about 2 hours drive from Kathmandu, the best way to reach the top is by a 15-minute ride on a cable car. Chandragiri was the fourth capital of the Vijayanagar Empire and is most famous for its historical fort built in the 11th century as well as the Raja and Rani Palaces found within it. It was in the year 1646 when the fort was won over by the Golkonda territory and then came under Mysore rule. The scenery is very beautiful, the temperature difference at the foot of the mountain is very big, and it is good to bring a coat up the mountain. The air is very fresh and the Hindu temples above are also beautiful. The cable car is worth a ride.
