Chitlang is a small paradise about 22 km south of Kathmandu valley. The picturesque beauty of Chitlang offers a peaceful day in nature and a wonderful landscape. Chitlang Day Hiking has become a popular day trip for those who are in Kathmandu. You can do this trip as a day tour or an overnight trip staying in Chitlang. About Chitlang. Chitlang is 28km far from Kathmandu and is 195.3km from Pokhara. Chitlang Village is in Narayani Zone, Nepal, a landlocked country in South Asia.

Hike to Chitlang village offers a pleasant nature walking experience that exceeds your imagination. To start the hike, we arrange to pick up from your hotel and drive you to Thankot, the point to start the trek. It is better to have a light breakfast before starting and pack a day's lunch. The hiking is steep uphill on the first half up to Chandragiri and later it descends all the way to Chitlang. The stunning sceneries of lush forest, Kathmandu valley, and the Himalayas in the north take your breath away. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the charming views. There are various meadows to graze the cattle around the village. Different temples with artistic creations, pagoda roofs, and unique craftsmanship offer fascinating charm. You have to be pretty fast to grab the spectacular places on a day trip, but a couple of days will be superb. The local people and their lifestyle are remarkable. Then you can hike to Indrasarovar if you want to return to Kathmandu on the same day. It is the largest manmade lake that serves as the reservoir to generate hydroelectricity.

Besides the historic Ashoka Stupa, Chitlang offers temples, stone stupas, Malla-era inscriptions, and the first police post outside Kathmandu Valley. Chitlang, which gained popularity for radish farming in the past, is now famous for olive farming. Chitlang is an ideal place to visit during any month be it winter, summer, or spring. One can camp in the lush greens of Chitlang during summers, while during winters one can stay in private homestays. In the months of March and April, that is spring, the flowers bloom, presenting visitors with a serene experience.

Drive to Chandragiri and start hiking 4-5 hours. This place also have a beautiful landscapes, you will be able to see Kathmandu valley, various Mountain range such as Annapurna Range, Langtang Range, manaslu range, Everest Range. After the completion you have to walk downstairs.

Chitlang Organic Village Resort is an organic village the way of living life in organic style. It is located at Makawanpur district Chitlang VDC. CHITLANG is about 22 KM from Kathmandu in the South West direction. Before Opening of TRIBHUWAN RAJPATH (High way to link India and Kathmandu), CHITLANG was only one “On foot Highway” to get India and the Southern part of Nepal. Normally, motors carry people; it is only the place in the world, where motors used to carry by people because there was not road Kathmandu valley and BHIMPHEDI (a place near the Terai Region of Nepal).
